Yesterday Jeremy and I took Hannah to the Louisville Zoo. We started the day off with breakfast at Bob Evans in E-town and then headed on to the zoo. Hannah enjoyed the train ride, elephants, pygmy hippos, alligator (which was really an albino crocodile), and the penguins. Of course her favorite part was riding on the carosel. She rode once with each of us and cried when the second ride was over. I distracted her by letting her push the stroller. The next (and last) stop was the gift shop. Hannah was overwhelmed with all of the "aminals". She adores the real-looking plastic critters that I usually get her at Toys R Us. Well, the zoo had 4 aisles of these miniature animals! She would look at one aisle, pick up a couple, put them back, and then say, "other side". She probably spent 20 minutes looking at them. Then, she'd notice something on a different aisle and go look over there. I've never seen her so indecisive! Usually she'll see what she wants and then asks to "beep it" which means that she wants the cashier to scan it so she can take it home. She finally settled on a giraffe and a squirrel and she paid the cashier with her money from Mamow. Thanks Mamow! Jeremy picked out some cute shirts for her and also got her 2 tubes of critters. I had planned to put these up for a little while so that she wouldn't have so many new things to play with at once, but it didn't work out that way! Hannah fell asleep approximately 3 minutes into our drive home and slept for a little while after we got home. She hadn't been up very long when she saw the tan bag laying on the table. She pointed to it and said, "Open toys, Momma". And she hadn't even watched when Jeremy had checked out ! She really surprises me sometimes.
We had a wonderful family day together and made a great memory.
