January Happenings

We dressed up for camo day at school. She really really wanted pink camo but we couldn't find any. Honestly, we did good to find a short sleeve camo shirt for her! She wasn't thrilled when she put it on and looked at the mirror the night before. She said she looked too much like a boy. At that time, she didn't want to wear Jeremy's hat or take his hunting backpack either. The next morning she warmed up to the idea after she noticed that her hair was camouflaged with her shirt. Too funny! Then she asked to wear the hat and backpack. She was sooooo cute! I wore one of Jeremy's shirts. I'm glad we got this picture together. It's probably the best one we've had of us in a while:)


Hannah celebrated her 100th day of school. Students were encouraged to dress up as 100 year olds. Hannah thought the idea was great a couple of days before, but was very apprehensive the morning when we were putting on her "costume" and making her hair white with baby powder. She even cried because she was scared that she would be the only one dressing as an old person. The only thing she really loved were the glasses (last picture on this post- don't know why they got out of order). We told her she could only wear them for pictures because they were actually reading glasses and we couldn't pop the lenses out of them. Of course, she didn't like that idea. Once she was at school and saw that some others had dressed up she felt more sure of herself.
Students also created a 100 day project and brought in special snacks to make a hodgepodge snack mix of 100 pieces.




You know you're tired when you come home from school and don't make it to sleep on the bed, but standing up beside it! Hannah usually falls asleep on the hour drive home and on this day walked inside the house herself. I told her she could lay on her bed for a little while, but she didn't quite seem to make it!

Besides these few special day at school, it was a pretty calm month around our house. We did enjoy one snow day. It was nerve racking to drive home in it, but I didn't have any problems. The sad thing about the snow day is that there really wasn't much snow to play in! It didn't even cover the grass.

Hannah ended up with two doctor visits this month - one on Saturday the 13th and then again on the 17th. She had a double ear infection. Maybe now that she's on daily nose spray in addition to her allergy medicine and vitamins that we won't be seeing the doctor so much.
