The next day we got up very early and headed to Louisville Zoo. We got there in time to take advantage of the members early admission to the splash park. Hannah was a bit afraid of all the unpredicatble water sources, so she stayed away from the dumping water bucket, shooting water, and waterslides off the back of the pirate ship.

We took our lunch and ate picnic style in the Islands area. This was before the black swan/duck came up and grabbed a cracker out of her hand, biting her finger in the process. Let's just say there were lots of tears and drama after that!

Right now the zoo has a Dinosaurs exhibit. The dinos look like the ones at Cave City, except they move and roar. One also squirted water!

Even though we went on a 80 degree day, we still got hot. Every chance she got, Hannah would play in the mist-er until she was quite wet. The pole in the picture below had a mist-er on top of it.

The zoo also has two 4-D rides right now - Dinosaurs and Spongebob. We rode Spongebob and Hannah giggled the whole time, even while adults next to us were squealing.
A trip to the zoo isn't complete without a ride (or 5) on the carosel! They have a package that includes the Dinosaurs exhibit, one 4-D ride, unlimited tram use, and unlimited carosel rides for 11.00. Since we packed our lunch, drinks, and snacks our whole zoo expierence cost less than 30.00.

Hannah wanted her picture on this, even though she was really tired. By this time, we'd been there for 8 hours! I'm so glad a friend nudged me into buying a membership. We can go to numerous zoos until March of next year and not pay admission. The two trips that we've went to the zoo have already paid for the price of the membership.
Every holiday we make funfetti cupcakes. These were fun to make and so yummy!

This makes me want to go to the zoo! They have so many neat things right now. I hope I can take the boys sometime this year.
